Over the years, various companies have produced paintball marker stands built for any purpose from store display to home display, or to simply store a paintgun while in the staging area at an event. For the latter category, few stands have managed to combine the ability to fold to a compact size, be lightweight and easy to transport, and still securely hold a paintball marker.

International Paintball Systems has set out to address these design criteria with their new stand, The Wrak, also known as the PMS-15.

68caliber-logo-headerInternational Paintball Systems has been around since 2004 designing and building the
PMS-15 Wrak, a paintball marker stand. Once they had the design perfected, they
introduced the Wrak to the general playing public. At the 2006 NPPL Tampa event, IPS
handed out Wraks to several pro teams to use, and much to owner John MacDonald’s
amusement, players on powerhouse pro teams were fighting over the Wraks and
absconding with Wraks given to rival teams.

Did you know that paintball is turning 25 years old really soon? You probably didn’t. But I’m sure what you do know is that for the majority of those 25 years, paintball guns were subjected to some of the most cruel and unusual punishment that any sports equipment has ever had to endure. Think about it. Why spend $1,500 on a gun that you’re going to put on the ground between games, or on top of a dirty table where all kinds of dirt, paint and Cool Ranch Doritos dust can get in it? To try and remedy the situation, some truly horrible hacked together gun cradles were wielded in haste , leaving $10 worth of PVC piping holding up your thousand-dollar marker. Smooth move, Ex-Lax.

Now, from International Paintball Systems LLC, comes a suitable alternative to protect your marker. The aptly named Wrak, which coincidentally was our assistant photographer’s nickname in college, is a portable folding paintball marker stand that you can easily take with you wherever you play. Constructed of a “high-strength polypropylene plastic,” it will stand up to most outdoor elements short of a pacific cyclone, and after you’re done it folds up nicely and is ready to be put back in your ’72 Gremlin. And finally, the most impressive news: It can be set up with one hand, which will come in handy in case the drummer from Def Leppard plays on your team.
